Zenitel’s VINGTOR VSS-2 Sound Reception System is a navigational aid enabling the officer in charge of the bridge to hear external sound signals and determine their direction. The VSS-2 is in compliance with SOLAS regulation, ISO1459, and DNV 2012 rules, requiring SR systems on ships with enclosed navigational bridge.

For enhanced detection and clarity, the VINGTOR VSS system utilizes DSP (Digital Signal Processing) to remove background noises from external audio signals and unwanted noise from the bridge.

The VSS system is easy to install; consisting of one microphone unit with four integrated directional microphones to mount on top of the wheelhouse. The main bridge panel interfaces with four slave panels, the VDR, and a relay output to mute the typhoon/foghorn.
