Technical Coordinator – Marine Industry

Mackay is currently seeking a Technical Coordinator who has experience in marine electronics and is highly proficient in English, to work onsite in our Mumbai, India depot. Work hours are Monday – Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 15:30 p.m. New York time.

TECHNICAL COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Miami-USA depot, the Technical Coordinator (TC) will communicate with Miami’s commercial shipping and cruise line customers worldwide via phone, fax, email, and provides the best customer service possible. When needed, the Technical Service Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Service Manager or Marine Service Engineer(s) in diagnosing equipment problems to determine what parts need to be ordered. The TC communicates with all key parties throughout the service experience and diligently helps to resolve any disputes.

Upon completion of service assignments, the Technical Coordinator will follow-up with the customer, review the technicians service report, and prepare the invoices. Regular “on call” weekend rotations are required.

TECHNICAL COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provides excellent customer service by answering phones, emails, faxes, and promptly responding accordingly.
  • Tracks and calls agents to check on vessel movements.
  • Validates customer credit.
  • Enters jobs into Microsoft DSL and generates service call IDs.
  • Sends completion reports to customers.
  • Interfaces with Mackay’s Global Parts Center.
  • Always ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, in addition to office processes including timely completion of service work, service pricing, and general record keeping.

TECHNICAL COORDINATOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ Years of TECHNICAL marine electronics experience.
  • 3+ Years of Service Coordination experience in the maritime sector coupled with the technical aspects of servicing electronics onboard commercial and military vessels.
  • Familiarity with marine electronic equipment manufacturers and their current models of equipment is required.
  • Must be fluent in English coupled with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent client service mentality, time management, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Have MTS or equivalent (RTM) or Higher Secondary (12th Pass) (IND)
