Marine Service Engineer – Central Belt

Mackay Marine is currently seeking an experienced Marine Service Engineer (MSE) with the skills and qualifications outlined below in the Central Belt region.

Marine Service Engineer Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, Marine Service Engineers (MSE) install, service, and repair marine electronic equipment onboard ships. Responsibilities including testing, adjusting, and troubleshooting components, as well as, loading, updating, and modifying software. MSEs utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. MSEs make use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments and upon completion, will compose a detailed service report.

Candidates must be qualified to carry out radio surveys and APTs on a range of VDRs.

Marine Service Engineer Requirements

• Candidates must be qualified to carry out radio surveys and APTs on a range of VDRs.
• A University degree in engineering or equivalent technical certifications.
• 3+ Years of Marine Service Engineer experience in the commercial shipping industry.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
• GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
• Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 2–3 St., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
