Mackay Marine currently has two openings in Lima, Peru for Marine Electronics Technicians, also known as Marine Service Technicians, with experience, skills, and qualifications below. Mackay is headquartered in the USA and proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English is required.

Marine Electronics Technician Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, Marine Electronics Technicians (MET) install, service, and repair marine electronic equipment on-board commercial and naval ships.  They test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as load, update, and modify software. Marine Electronics Technicians utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems as well as to make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of each job, the technician will compose and remit a detailed service report.

Marine Electronics Technician Qualifications:

  • 3+ Years as an MET in the commercial shipping industry.
  • A University degree in engineering, or equivalent technical certifications.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
  • Physically Fit. Work environment often involves carrying 23 kilograms, climbing ladders/masts, working in confined spaces, and exposure to weather.
